According to Heritage Auctions, Tom Wilson sold his shrinkwrapped VHS copy of the films to a record $75,000.

The last auction record for VHS was the first print "Star Wars", 1977 video, which was sold at Goldin Auctions in December for $57,000, Action Network reported.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Wilson's collection contained all three films as well as a documentary.

Wilson, 63, was the villain Biff Tannen. Griff Tannen and Buford Mad Dog Tannen were also part of the film trilogy.

It began in 1985 with the " Back to the Future" movie and was followed by sequels in 1989, 1990, and 1990.

Heritage Auctions announced that the auction was won by a New York-based collector.
