Into the Woods

An elegant creation of “Into the Woods” is making a beeline for Broadway.

Following its buzzy, sold-out run at New York City Center, Encore’s version of “Into the Woods” is moving to the Great White Way.

This variant, devoted to the memory of Stephen Sondheim, will check the show’s first time on Broadway in quite a while.

The dream melodic will play at the St. James Theater for a restricted, eight-week commitment.

Reviews will start on June 28, with premiere night set for July 10.

Into the Woods

Sara Bareilles is repeating her job as the Baker’s Wife close by Brian D’Arcy James, who is supplanting Neil Patrick Harris as the Baker.

Gavin Creel is likewise returning the Wolf/Cinderella’s Prince. Newbies to the creation incorporate Patina Miller as the Witch, Phillipa Soo as Cinderella and Joshua Henry as Rapunzel’s Prince. Extra projecting will be reported sometime in the not too distant future.

Into the Woods” first debuted on Broadway in 1987. The show, a concoction of Cinderella, Rapunzel, Little Red Riding Hood and different Brothers Grimm fantasies, won three Tony Awards, including best score and book.

Audition Update

Burglarize Marshall adjusted the fantasy melodic into a component film in 2014, drove by Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, James Corden, Anna Kendrick and Chris Pine.

Lear deBessonet is coordinating this form of Sondheim’s “Into the Woods,” with music heading by Rob Berman and The Encores Orchestra, and arranged by Lorin Latarro.
