Lisa Bonet Wiki: Lilakoi Moon, professionally known as Lisa Bonet, is an American actress known throughout the late 1890s and 1990s. She completed her high school education at Birmingham High School in Van Nuys, California, and then studied acting at the Celluloid Actors Studio in North Hollywood.

At the young age of 11, she entered the world of acting by appearing in commercials. She also appeared in many beauty pageants and featured in guest spots on TV series.

Liza Bonet was born on November 16, 1967 in San Francisco, California to Allen Bonet, an opera singer of African-American background from Texas, and Arlene Joyce Litman, a teacher of Jewish descent.

By her father’s union with Deborah Church, she has two half-brothers and five half-sisters, among them singer Kadhja Bonet.

With her ex-husband Lenny Kravitz and Jason Momoa, she shares three children, Zoe Kravitz, Lola Lolani Momoa, and Nakoa-Wolf Manakauapo Namakaeha Momoa.

Bonet’s long, outstanding career began with her first acting role as Carla in the seventh episode of the second season of the American medical drama television series ‘St. Elsewhere,” titled ‘Entrapment’, which aired on December 7, 1983.

Her breakthrough came in 1984 when she landed the part of Denise Huxtable in the American TV sitcom “The Cosby Show” with Bill Cosby as the second child of Br. Cliff and Clair Huxtable.

The Cosby Show, which debuted on NBC on September 20, 1984, and continued for eight seasons until April 30, 1992, was a success, holding the top spot in TV ratings for five of those seasons.

Bonet gained enormous fame for her role as Denise in this show. She appeared in a total of 98 episodes, beginning with the first episode.

She was nominated for a Young Artist Award and an Emmy for her outstanding performance on the show.

She also appeared in two American anthology TV shows in 1985: as Carrie in the ABC Afterschool Special and as Justine in the Tales from the Darkside episode ‘The Satanic Piano.’

She soon forayed on to the big-screen with her debut as Epiphany Proudfoot in the American neo-noir psychological horror film ‘Angel Heart’ directed by Alan Parker, and starring Mickey Rourke and Robert De Niro.

This film further gave fuel to her rise as an amazing actress.

Due to the success of her character on The Cosby Show, she reprised her role as Denise Huxtable in a spin-off, “A Different World,” which debuted on NBC on September 24, 1987. She was fired after the first season.

She made appearances on the Bill Cosby Show but was eventually permanently fired due to “creative differences.”

She went on to appear in other works, including the election special ‘Why Bother Voting?’In 1993, she starred in ‘Bank Robber’ directed and written by Nick Mead. Furthermore, she featured in films such as in the crime-thriller flick ‘Final Combination’ starring Catherine Briggs.

She starred as Merie De Salle in the American romantic-comedy film High Fidelity and in the

“Lathe of Heaven.” She further starred as Queenie in the film ‘Biker Boyz’ in 2003, which, however, received largely negative reviews. She played Mae Evans in the 2005 film ‘Whitepaddy’ and as Magdalena in the commercially successful 2014 drama-thriller ‘Road to Paloma.’

She then went on to star in some other TV series, including featuring in a couple of episodes of ‘Drunk History’; in seven episodes of ‘The Red Road’ along with appearing in ‘Girls.’
