Which Married at First Sight Couples Are Still Together?

Married at First Sight Couples Are Still Together: Making a relationship last in reality TV is difficult, but many Married at First Sight couples have shown they are capable of doing so! The Lifetime series follows several couples who are matched by relationship experts and decide to get married after meeting each other.

The professionals, including marriage therapist Dr. Viviana Coles, sociologist Dr. Pepper Schwartz, and pastor and marriage counsellor Calvin Roberson, work with the couples throughout the season as they adjust to married life and strive to get to know one another.

After their wedding, they spend their honeymoon together before moving in together for eight weeks. Then, the decisive query is posed: do you want to stay married or file for divorce?

Its popularity has led to numerous spinoffs, including Married at First Sight: The First Year, Married at First Sight: Second Chances, Married at First Sight Couples: Honeymoon Island, Married at First Sight: Happily Ever After, and Married at First Sight: Couples Cam. The series debuted on FYI network and moved to Lifetime (produced by Kinetic Content) for season 5.

Which Married at First Sight Couples Are Still Together?

Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner (Season 1)

Jamie and Doug were the series’ first big success, despite the fact that it first seemed unsteady. They are the show’s longest-lasting couple because they are the only Season 1 couple still together.

Jamie’s story really captured the attention of many viewers. She appeared raw and genuine in her post-ceremony freak-out, as she sobbed in the hallway while wearing her wedding dress. Viewers soon discovered that she had experienced difficulties in her personal life as well; she had raised her younger siblings after obtaining legal custody of them and was largely estranged from her mother.

After Jamie got over her initial fear, they seemed to get along great. Jamie seemed to feel more at ease around Doug, who also provided the solid familial foundation she required. Jamie’s situation significantly improved as she and Doug settled into their routine as a married couple.

They appeared in a Married at First Sight spinoff television programme called Jamie and Doug Plus One, which highlighted the imminent birth of their daughter, Henley. Jamie and Doug revealed in the fall of 2019 that they were expecting a baby in the spring, despite the fact that they have previously been upfront about their troubles with pregnancy. Hendrix Douglas Hehner, their son, was born on May 13, 2020.

Ashley Petta and Anthony D’Amico (Season 5)

Anthony and Ashley are another newlywed couple who met and were married at the altar. Even though there has never been a perfect match on MAFS, these two appeared to be the definition of “love at first sight.” As soon as they laid eyes on one another, sparks began to fly.

After the honeymoon, the couple did get into some arguments, with the most of the arguments centred on their apartment search. One particular incident that stands out is when Ashley rejected Anthony’s idea of the ideal house for the two of them because it lacked a designated parking space.

The couple also appeared in Married at First Sight: Happily Ever After, the sequel series. In January 2019, they welcomed Mila Rose, a daughter. And based on the gushing, love-filled postings they each posted on social media in August 2019, on the occasion of their third wedding anniversary, they still appeared to be in love and even happier than before. Vaeda Marie, their second child, was born in February 2021.

Jephte Pierre and Shawniece Jackson (Season 6)

Jephte and Shawniece encountered whatever the opposite of love at first sight is. This couple did not have chemistry throughout the wedding, in contrast to Anthony and Ashley. They didn’t exactly click at the altar, although later admitting that they thought the other was lovely. Throughout the season, they clashed frequently, with one famous encounter taking place in a cornfield labyrinth.

Before their season finale aired, the couple made Shawniece’s pregnancy known. They welcomed their daughter Laura in August 2018. After the experiment was over, they did separate, but they never got divorced because they chose to get back together despite still having differences to work through.

They went back to the location of their wedding and relived some of the ups and downs since that day with Ashley and Anthony as part of Married at First Sight: Happily Ever After? They both appeared really eager to put their best effort into their marriage after Shawniece sobbedly revealed that all she had ever wanted was to get married and have children.

Danielle Bergman and Bobby Dodd (Season 7)

Danielle and Bobby are most noteworthy for, well, their lack of notable drama or strife, making them perhaps the least surprise selection on this list. Throughout their season, not a single fight was depicted involving them. They appeared to get along so well that some viewers were dubious.

They speculated on social media that one or both of them might have been overly accommodating in an effort to avoid any awkward moments in front of the camera. Even several of the experts on the show expressed concern over Bobby’s apparent inability to stand up for himself and his propensity to cave in order to avoid conflict.

It came as no surprise that they chose to stick together on Decision Day. But when Bobby got down on one knee and proposed to Danielle—a proposal she hadn’t received before their wedding—Danielle was in for a shock.

The couple made their pregnancy announcement during a reunion performance, and their daughter Olivia was born in February 2019. They eventually admitted that Danielle’s late-pregnancy medical issues contributed to the difficult labour and delivery. Robert Elvin Dodd IV, their son, was born in December 2020.

Stephanie Sersen and AJ Vollmoeller (Season 8)

From the beginning, Stephanie and AJ had a definite chemistry and a physical connection that some of their fellow cast members appeared to find difficult to match. But after their first attraction, there was some tension between them as well.

AJ admits that he has a strong personality and that he may be obstinate and pushy when expressing his thoughts. As an only child, AJ was used to making decisions for himself and not having to take anybody else into consideration.

Stephanie Sersen and AJ Vollmoeller (Season 8)

The difficulty of adjusting to life as a newlywed pair in front of the cameras only appeared to increase. AJ confessed that he felt awkward exhibiting affection in front of a camera, and he frequently appeared less at ease than his wife. Stephanie, on the other hand, frequently acted as the steady hand and voice of reason. In one memorable scene, the couple is lounging in a hammock when a producer reminds them of their homework. AJ snaps at the producer.

Once the cameras stopped recording, things for this pair appeared to be going more smoothly. Off-camera, they spend a lot of time travelling, as shown by the far-flung locales that frequently serve as the setting for their social media posts.

Kristine Killingsworth and Keith Dewar (Season 8)

The proverb “rain on your wedding day is good luck” certainly applied to Kristine and Keith from Season 8. Not only did Kristine battle with a wardrobe malfunction as her garter fell down her leg, but she also had to go down the aisle under an umbrella. Many observers undoubtedly wouldn’t have given this pair particularly good odds to prevail despite the rain’s reputedly lucky properties.

Although they were initially attracted to one another, this couple’s honeymoon didn’t last very long. Soon after the wedding, they made clear that they had extremely different perspectives on a number of important issues, ranging from domestic duties to the timing of beginning a family.

While Kristine wanted to concentrate on her job and put off having children for at least a few years, Keith was ready to start growing their family right away. When Keith admits that as a child, he felt abandoned by his father, they have an emotional turning point toward the end of the season. When Keith’s father fails to show up for a dinner date with the couple, it serves as a significant opportunity for the two to bond.

They eventually overcame their disagreements by making compromises and finding common ground on the majority of problems. But as they battled to combine their resources and learn how to budget as a pair, managing their money was one of their major problems. When they jointly purchased a fixer-upper, they made their first significant purchase.

Elizabeth Bice and Jamie Thompson (Season 9)

Beth and Jamie from Season 9 are among the list’s more unexpected additions. They belonged to the category of couples that many followers bet against right away. Many people thought it would be best for each of them if the couple split up after their numerous heated arguments.

One of the show’s experts had to make an urgent house call to help mediate a particularly tense fight at one point toward the end of the season.

They acknowledged having experienced a brief breakup during the reunion event, but appeared to have moved on and appeared content. In contrast to the frequently tense and occasionally aggressive personalities they demonstrated during the season, they also came off as surprisingly reserved and subdued.

The couple’s relationship appeared to become better after some time away from the media. The pair claimed in September that their “crazy conflicts are nonexistent” and they are improving their communication.

Deonna McNeill and Gregory Okotie (Season 9)

Communication is a problem for many of the MAFS couples. It’s frequently the men who find it difficult to communicate their emotions or to be vulnerable, especially when cameras are present. Gregory was the more reserved one when it came to Deonna.

Greg admitted that he thought himself to be an excellent communicator, thus he found Deonna’s hesitation to lower her guard annoying. Deonna required some time to get used to trusting someone enough to be open and vulnerable as her last long-term relationship had been almost ten years ago. She was a career-driven, independent lady who was used to taking care of herself and living alone, which didn’t help.

Greg was patient, and it paid off as they started to bond deeply. They declared on Decision Day that they would continue to be married since they were falling more and more in love.

Austin Hurd and Jessica Studer (Season 10)

Rarely does a MAFS couple fall in love from the moment they first meet at the altar and maintain that connection for the duration of the experiment. Jessica and Austin, in contrast to the other contestants during Season 10, were an exception to the rule.

Week after week, as their bond grew, they were able to complete the experiment because of their silly and playful connection. Even little flaws with organisation and cleanliness were promptly resolved before they could become more serious problems for the couple.

Austin’s job schedule, which caused him to be away from home for extended periods of time, was one unanticipated problem for the couple. Jessica was unhappy about the pair’s lack of quality time together, but they were able to make accommodations and grow stronger as a couple. Westin Paul Hurd, the couple’s son, was born in November 2021.

Woody Randall and Amani Aliyya (Season 11)

We were surprised to see two couples during Season 11 of MAFS, including Woody and Amani, who connected right away when they saw each other at the altar. When Woody initially met Amani, he rapidly shed his reputation as a bachelor and became known as a playboy among his friends.

Despite the difficulties of marrying a stranger and coexisting with them during a pandemic, the couple’s devotion for one another only strengthened throughout the course of their protracted relationship.

On Decision Day, when asked if they wanted to stay married, Amani unexpectedly said she wanted a divorce. The tension in the meeting gradually dissipated when she revealed to Woody and the experts that she was kidding and wanted to keep her marriage.

In response, Woody presented Amani with a wedding band that he had bought for her at the reunion. She still wore her wedding band, but Woody wanted to show her his love and dedication by giving her a ring of his own. The couple announced their first child’s impending arrival in February 2022.

Miles Williams and Karen Landry (Season 11)

In contrast to the other two couples from Season 11, Miles and Karen struggled before their first encounter. Karen learned her partner’s identity, profession, and social media account through a surprise text message.

After meeting Miles, Karen began to doubt whether she should be married; she even told the producers beforehand that her potential spouse wasn’t her type. However, after they met at the altar, Karen did choose to wed Miles.

The difficulties the newlyweds encountered in coping with the lockdown only served to underline their lack of intimacy in their relationship. Karen, who needed a more aggressive and traditional “man of the house,” and Miles, who needed more affection without having to ask, were able to lay it all on the table after speaking with the experts and communicate what was required and what they could offer one another.

They decided to stay together and carry on developing the relationship after gradually establishing their connection and confidence in one another.

Briana Myles and Vincent Morales (Season 12)

On MAFS Season 12, Briana and Vincent Morales said “I do.” The Atlanta-based couple just celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary and hasn’t looked back since. Concerning Vincent’s close relationship with Briana’s dog, Cookie, Briana and Vincent got into some arguments.

Together, they discovered how to divide the dog’s attention, and Briana was able to provide Cookie two favourite spots in the house as opposed to one.

Despite being the only couple from Season 12 still together, they firmly support Married at First Sight‘s special method. The two have surmounted their obstacles, notwithstanding a few bumps in the road related to the division of home tasks and Vincent’s reluctance to pitch in. Briana even claims that she enjoys doing things to make her spouse happy, and Vincent greatly values his wife.

No one was surprised when Briana and Vincent decided to stay married on Decision Day since they remained close and communicated. The much in love pair is currently on a globe tour while still spending a lot of time with their dog, Cookie!

Noi Phommasak and Steve Moy (Season 14)

From Season 14, Noi and Steve were a popular coupling. The energy between them was apparent from away, and Noi even told Steve that she was having feelings for him when they were on their honeymoon. They did, however, face their fair share of challenges over the season, just like all couples do.

Noi was worried about her future with her new husband because of issues with his career — or lack thereof. Steve, however, also had his own worries, particularly in regards to his wife’s use of social media. However, they were able to resolve their disputes via openness and conversation.

Katina Goode and Olajuwon Dickerson (Season 14)

Katina and Olajuwon were another success story from Season 14 despite keeping us on our toes throughout their entire trip. Olajuwon first voiced a lot of worries about his new bride. Many were shocked when he even dared to question her abilities to make a good wife.

Katina, however, showed Olajuwon that she is more than just wifey material by exercising patience and tenacity. As the season went on, the couple grew to love one another more and more, and their wonderful love tale came to a happy conclusion.

Olajuwon and Katina experienced ups and downs, but the effort they put into improving their relationship and themselves paid off. The couple now travels and spends time getting to know one another off camera.
